Do you have your green all ready for tomorrow?! I will fully admit that just 20 minutes ago I was out making some last minute green shopping. You know about that life! I may or may not have ran into some other leprechauns out there. :) This post contains affiliate links for your shopping convenience.
We have been doing a little St. Pat's celebrating this past week.
We read the books The Luckiest St. Patrick's Day Ever and Lucky Tucker before making these adorable little leprechauns from Cara over at The First Grade Parade. You can find templates for this here.
I love to see all their responses when making text-to-self connections. So many of them responded "I feel lucky when I get hugs and kisses" but my personal favorite being... "I feel lucky when I find money in the washer from my dad's pants." Hahah! You can't even make this stuff up. :)
Today we spent some time using our stem challenge skills to build a leprechaun trap! It was all the rage, per usual. :) I was so proud of my students for how they jumped into action to work as a team and plan a trap with their table. First we read aloud How to Catch a Leprechaun.
Then we mapped out our designs and sprung into action! After, we spent some time writing out our steps to review our procedural writing skills.

If you're looking to add some new books to the collection, these are some of my favorite St. Patrick's Day read alouds!
